I love making my holiday decorations. When you make your own decorations you know you have something completely different than everybody else. My girlfriends and I use to get together for craft nights. We would all make the same type of craft but they all would turn out so different. We would pick different colors and we all have our own style so even though we are creating the “same” item they all would look totally different. The holiday craft that I want to show you today is a simple, inexpensive decoration to light up your front door for Valentine’s Day. I purchased all of these items at my local craft store for exactly $15! Supplies Base wreath 6 Individual felt sheets – I chose white, pink and light pink Ribbon Embellishments Hot Glue Gun Glue Sticks Scissors There are so many ways to make felt flowers. You can do […]

I have found the easiest copycat recipe for Wendy’s Frosty’s. Anything that has to do with ice cream, now that’s my jam! I actually haven’t had a Wendy’s Frosty in about 5 years until about a week ago. What have I been doing with my life that I don’t eat them more? Oh that’s right, I’ve been staying away from fast food. Anyways, when I got a frosty the other day, I thought there had to be an easy way to recreate them at home with my Cuisinart Gelateria Ice Cream Maker. The answer is yes, yes there is! We purchased the 2 qt. Cuisinart Gelateria Ice Cream Maker at Sur la Table over this past summer when we did our first cooking class, Celebration Cakes. It actually was an impulse buy and it took us months to actually take it out of the box and figure out how to […]

Do you ever get sick of doing things the same way? Changing up your simple routine can give you a little pick me up. Change up your lip color, style your hair differently, change up your daily exercise routine or tie your scarf in a different way! Here are three simple ways to tie a scarf in an unexpected new way.   Do the twist! Fold the scarf in half and loop it. Bring the tail through the loop. Twist the loop. Bring the tail through the second loop. Tighten the tail and voilà!   Loop De Loop  Fold the scarf in half and loop it. Bring one tail end through the loop. Take the other end over the side of the loop closest to your face. Bring that same end then through the loop. Tighten the tail ends and there you have it!   Bow-tiful! If you are working […]

I don’t know who came up with the idea of Friendsgiving, but I think it’s brilliant. I love my family so much and enjoy spending time with them. I also love the idea of giving thanks to your friends. And in the grand scheme of things, friends are family, aren’t they? Do you host or go to a Friendsgiving gathering every year? If you are new to the idea of Friendsgiving, it’s basically just a celebration of Thanksgiving dinner with your friends. It usually occurs on the Wednesday before or the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, since Thanksgiving is usually reserved for family gatherings. An assortment of food is prepared and stories are shared of why everyone is friends and thankful for each other. Typically the host prepares the turkey and everyone else brings a side dish (potluck style).
