Just because it is September 1st does not mean that summer is over! I’m not saying that I’m not super excited for all things fall – pumpkin spice lattes, chunky sweaters and fall scented candles, but I just can’t believe that summer will soon be coming to an end. I’ve rounded up my favorite Amazon purchases that I made this summer. These are pieces that I’ve worn over and over again. Pieces that I will wear all the way until the warm weather ends. Since I’m in the Midwest that could be October! We never know. 1. Sunflower Midi Dress – My #1 favorite Amazon purchase this summer is this sunflower dress. I can’t tell you how many times I wore this dress this summer. It’s comfy, it’s flattering, and it’s the perfect midi length. I also think it offers a good amount of support to go bra-less. It’s such a great […]

Follow my blog with Bloglovin   Pattern mixing can seem challenging at times. There are a few questions I ask myself when pattern mixing. What patterns can be mixed? Do these patterns go together? What color schemes can be mixed? If I mix patterns will it look intentional or like I don’t know how to dress? Don’t be scared! You too can pattern mix like a pro! Some designers and stores are even making it easy for you and combining two patterns in one. How easy is that? No thinking involved! It’s practically foolproof! There are actually unofficial rules to pattern mixing. So if you’re not looking to purchase anything new for your closet stick to these rules to pattern mix with pieces you already own. Work with the same color palette. The prints should share at least one color. Choose patterns that are different scales. I love mixing florals […]

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Whoa…it has been a hot minute! I’ve been a little MIA lately, just super busy. Also I’ve been in a little bit of a funk and not feeling very creative. I think what I need is to be better at planning and organizing my thoughts. So welcome back to Lifestyle by Katie! I’ve got several Spring fashion posts cued up and my first one is on a transitional piece that will help you get out of your Winter wardrobe and into Spring fashion faster! When it’s still in the 30’s during the first week of April, you believe Spring will never arrive! Ok, that’s pretty dramatic but seriously I am sick of this weather! I want to start wearing all the hot Spring trends but it’s still too cold. I recently picked up this long sleeve sheer top that I have a feeling I’ll be […]

(Note: Giveaway at the end of this post!) You have no idea how happy I am to start writing blog posts about spring fashion and accessories. I’m so sick of the cold weather. It’s so depressing. It just puts you in this funk and I would do anything to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sun light that is! So I am starting my 2018 spring blog posts right here, right now. What better way than to start with this adorable striped high-low dress and a unique accessory that everyone could appreciate. I’m a huge accessories girl so I’m always looking for unique pieces. Jewelry, handbags, shoes, I love them all! I have been eyeing JORD Wood Watches ever since I started blogging on Instagram two years ago. All of my favorite small town fashion bloggers were talking about them and it intrigued me. So when a rep […]

It truly is my destiny to travel the world! I’ve never been to Paris but it is at the top of my bucket list. I have always been so fascinated by all things French. The beauty, the culture, the food, the architecture, the romance and most importantly the fashion! There is something so chic and classic about dressing like a Parisian. The sleek lines, the pops of color, the accessories, the feminine details, I love it all! Since I won’t be able to make it to Paris anytime soon, I figured I’d take full advantage of dressing the part while visiting the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. My look consisted of a ruffle white blouse with attached scarf detail, skinny jeans, red heels for that pop of color, designer handbag and of course a beret. I mean would you really feel like you were in Paris if you weren’t wearing […]
