The months leading up to Christmas take a beating on my bank account. Anybody else feel the same way? We’ve got Christmas gifts, holiday outfits, New Year’s Eve outfit and cozy winter accessories all that are just draining our bank accounts. So, I’ve decided to challenge myself and participate in no shop January. My goal is to not buy any clothes, shoes, accessories or home decor for the entire month of January. I’m very curious to see how much money I can save just in a month buy not spending money on those items. I’m really trying to buckle down for the next couple of months because I plan to buy a house soon. Every little bit helps, right? If you would like to join me in this challenge I have come up with some tips to help pull back on the spending. The following are tips to help you […]

As I pack for my trip to Riviera Maya to celebrate the New Year, I’m looking back on my year. It was such a crazy but good year. I know we always say that the years go by so fast but this year truly did for me. I’ve grown so much. I’ve had heartbreak and experienced new love. I walked away from my past to look forward to my future.  I saved money all year to finally buy a house (more to come on that). I was lucky enough to be able to lean on my parents, I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done for me and what they’ve sacrificed for me. Not just over the past year but for my whole life.  I also cherish the new friendships I’ve made this year. Unfortunately when you go through a divorce, you also lose friendships. Sometimes friends take sides, […]

Current mood: Listening to Christmas music 24/7! It’s one week until Christmas, are you ready? Have you finished shopping? Have you even started? I just have a couple presents left to come in the mail and I am done. So I decided to wrap gifts on Sunday after getting hot chocolate at Naperville’s Christkindlemarket. We came home, got in our pajamas, turned Christmas music on and wrapped away. The following is a list of my top 15 favorite Christmas songs. So if you haven’t wrapped your gifts yet, hop in your pj’s, grab some hot chocolate and create a killer playlist to get in the Christmas spirit! Wham! – Last Christmas Michael Bublé – All I Want for Christmas Pentatonix – I’ll Be Home for Christmas Paul McCartney – Wonderful Christmastime Run D.M.C. – Christmas in Hollis Band Aid 30 – Do They Know It’s Christmastime? Straight No Chaser – […]

I just started my fashion and lifestyle blog a couple months ago and honestly I didn’t know the first thing about running a website. I used the Premium version of WordPress to do the best I could but I knew my blog would need to grow with me. When Laura from Blogerize reached out to me, I did some research and decided to collaborate with them to make my blog what it now is today. And I couldn’t be happier!

I don’t know who came up with the idea of Friendsgiving, but I think it’s brilliant. I love my family so much and enjoy spending time with them. I also love the idea of giving thanks to your friends. And in the grand scheme of things, friends are family, aren’t they? Do you host or go to a Friendsgiving gathering every year? If you are new to the idea of Friendsgiving, it’s basically just a celebration of Thanksgiving dinner with your friends. It usually occurs on the Wednesday before or the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, since Thanksgiving is usually reserved for family gatherings. An assortment of food is prepared and stories are shared of why everyone is friends and thankful for each other. Typically the host prepares the turkey and everyone else brings a side dish (potluck style).
