She’s alive! Whoa! I know it’s been awhile. Sorry I’ve been so MIA, but life can be tough sometimes. As I sit here at my little bistro set on my back patio, I question some things that have been weighing on me lately. The main thing being my blog. What am I doing this for? Does it matter to anybody? How do I balance a full time job, a blog, family and a social life? Should I be a part of Reward Style? How can I put myself out there more? Will I run out of ideas? Do I even have a voice? Okay sorry, I sound so melodramatic! I just question if I can keep up with this and will it even matter. I guess if it only matters to me than there’s a reason to continue.
I started blogging because I was looking to share with the world the things I love. To give people recommendations on travel, fashion and DIY’s. Over the past couple of years fashion and lifestyle bloggers have skyrocketed. How can I stand out in a world full of creative beings?
I don’t have the answers to any of these questions but I think that’s okay. I don’t think we are meant to have all the answers. We are just meant to live our lives and be happy. So that’s what I’m doing, and if anything else comes from this little blurp on the internet then that’s cool too.
Now on to what I’ve been up to the last couple of months. I bought a house! I’m so excited to share it with you. It so crazy though, out of all the “adult” things I’ve done – going away to college, moving out of state, getting married, getting a divorce – buying a house all on my own was by far the one thing that made me feel like a true adult. Is that normal or is it just me?
It’s a cute little townhouse/duplex in Naperville, IL. Naperville was never part of my initial search for a house, but it just offered everything that I was looking for. It definitely didn’t hurt that it’s less than five minutes away from my best friends. Decorating and remodeling have all been a dream. I’ll be sharing more on my home decor soon!
While searching for a new home, I got a promotion at work! It had definitely been something I’d been working to for the past six months. I love my job! It’s a lot longer hours but a lot more flexible with working from home.
I’ve planned two upcoming trips, Paris in September and Key West in December. If you know me, you know that Paris has always been a dream for me. It still doesn’t feel real that this dream will be coming true. Any Paris recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you to everybody who has continued to follow me, shown support and have stuck around while I figure this thing out!
