Floral and Stripes for Spring

Pattern mixing can seem challenging at times. There are a few questions I ask myself when pattern mixing. What patterns can be mixed? Do these patterns go together? What color schemes can be mixed? If I mix patterns will it look intentional or like I don’t know how to dress? Don’t be scared! You too can pattern mix like a pro! Some designers and stores are even making it easy for you and combining two patterns in one. How easy is that? No thinking involved! It’s practically foolproof!

There are actually unofficial rules to pattern mixing. So if you’re not looking to purchase anything new for your closet stick to these rules to pattern mix with pieces you already own.

  1. Work with the same color palette.
  2. The prints should share at least one color.
  3. Choose patterns that are different scales.

I love mixing florals and stripes because it is so girly without looking childish. Stripes, checks and polka dots all work well with florals.

I love how fun this hi-lo blouse is! It moves so effortlessly when I walk. This is probably my favorite look I’ve put together so far this Spring. I can’t find this blouse online for you to purchase but I’ve linked some similar pieces down below to shop.

Can we talk about these Jelly block heels that I found?! I hope the Jelly trend is coming back. They totally bring me back to my childhood. These Jeffrey Campbell Jelly Block Heels come in 4 colors and are on major sale so get them while you can! // Pink // Black // Turquoise // Blue //

Look #2 is simple and this self tie cami is perfect for Spring and Summer. It pairs great with shorts or a denim skirt! Throw on heels to dress it up or sneakers for a more casual look.
